Edge of the World
At first glance, you see a beautiful vacation rental in a picturesque setting with dreamy views. While all this is very true, there is so much more to this amazing stay than you will ever read on any rental website.
The story of how, Edge of the World fell into David and his partners lives, is nothing short of a storybook romance between two people and the luring mystic energy that is ever so present on this property.
The Story
The couple had traveled to Costa Rica for a yoga retreat. One day, they came across a sign that read “Edge of the World” and knew they had to go check it out. Once they arrived, at the end of the driveway, they noticed a for sale sign. They parked and began walking up the driveway. David’s partner said, “We have to live here, the energy is incredible!” At this point, they had not even laid eyes on the house yet. However, an overwhelming energy surge completely drew them in.
As they approached the property, a young couple with two small children greeted them.
“We want to buy your home!” The young couple seemed a little confused. “But you haven’t even seen it yet”, they replied.
What Makes Edge of the World So Special?
Edge of the World is located on a cliff overlooking the jungle. Below is the Barú Valley, which is a very important ecological corridor that houses many rare species of birds. It is also located directly in the middle of seven Guanacaste trees that represent the seven Chakras. These enormous trees were thought to hold mystical properties for the native Indians in the area.
To say there is mystical energy, peace and tranquility here would be a severe understatement. Edge of the world is unlike any other place on earth.
Our Experience
Max and I were lucky enough to stay in this tropical oasis for three nights. To sum up our experience in three words: peaceful, mesmerizing and relaxing.
The entire vibe of the property is incredibly peaceful. Falling asleep to a real life jungle sound track is something we will never forget. We visited during rainy season and let me tell you, listening to the rain with jungle sounds in the background is a memory that will forever be present in our hearts. The wave of peace that engulfs my body just thinking about the vibe of this place is enough to have me booking another flight back to Costa Rica! There really is something about the energy at Edge of the World. You must experience it for yourself to know what I mean.
There are endless amounts of beautiful lush gardens surrounding the property to explore. One of our favorite things to do was watch the sunrise and set over the jungle each day. Every day we would venture out for some exploring, but we would always hurry back to the property before sun set! We would sit for hours absolutely entranced by the view of the dancing clouds, wildlife and the ocean in the far background. During our stay, we saw many toucans, beautiful birds and wild pigs.
Did I mention there is an outdoor stone tub overlooking the jungle, a private spring fed pool, or your very own yoga studio? This place is truly an absolute gem and unique stay in Dominical.
About the House
This two story cabin is fully equipped with anything you could ever need while on vacation. From beach towels to board games, and even a venom extractor – I mean, you are in the jungle after all. This place truly has it all!
Upon arriving, before you even reach the property, you must enter a gate code. Once you arrive at the property, there is a key pad with a designated code for your stay only. The cabin doors automatically lock each time they are open and closed. The property also has 24/7 surveillance as an added safety precaution. However, do not worry if you wanted to take a dip in the outdoor tub only wearing your birthday suit, there are privacy covers for each camera! Your safety and privacy is top priority during your stay.
Pro Tip: You need a 4×4 to reach Edge of the World, but do not let that intimidate you, it is an easy trek! Read our tips for driving in Costa Rica.
