Discovering True Hospitality: Our Stay at Padma Resort Ubud

IMG 5910

Some travel experiences stay with you forever, and for my husband and I, staying at Padma Resort Ubud in Bali was exactly that. It wasn’t just a luxurious getaway; it was a masterclass in hospitality, the kind you can only find in Bali. They don’t just meet your needs—they anticipate them, down to the smallest detail. I’m talking about things like the limes they serve with your cocktails—cut from the juiciest, easiest-to-squeeze parts. Who even thinks of that? Padma Ubud does.

One Bedroom Suite

The bathrooms in the One-Bedroom Suite at the Padma Resort Ubud are a highlight of the experience. The expansive design includes a sleek walk-in shower complemented by thoughtful touches like towel warmers and plush bathrobes. Premium bath amenities are replenished daily and an outdoor soaking tub overlooking the jungle, ensuring every detail enhances your stay. These elements, paired with the suite’s Balinese-inspired elegance, create a space that feels indulgent yet welcoming .

One of our favorite parts of the suite? The delightful towel animals the cleaning staff created daily. Coming back to see what new creation they’d left for us became a little highlight of each day. And the attention didn’t stop there—they cleaned twice daily, leaving the space pristine and even drawing the blinds for us in the evening.

Shoutout to the dream team—Ardawan, Eva, Mariana, Prabowo, Jerry, Mikail, and Chandra! You all are the unsung MVPs of our stay. Seriously, they even take their shoes off before stepping into your room. As a self-proclaimed germaphobe, this kind of respect for cleanliness felt like winning the jackpot. My inner clean freak has never been happier!

Activities that Made Us Rethink Our Itinerary

Before arriving, we had a packed itinerary planned with an incredible local company, Discover Bali Driver.  Our driver was an absolute gem—knowledgeable, patient, and always ready to help us navigate ticket purchases and explore the island. He even adjusted the schedule to accommodate our last-minute whims!

But once we arrived at Padma, everything changed. The resort was so captivating we canceled three days of our itinerary just to stay and explore. From the infinity pool that seems to float above the jungle to yoga classes, Balinese cultural workshops, and even a mixology class where I learned to craft Balinese cocktails using local spirits, there was always something to do. A special shoutout to bartender Pande for guiding me on a garden-to-glass journey—taking us to Padma’s fresh garden to hand-pick herbs and ingredients for our creations. Also, shout out to Padma’s amazing Yoga teacher, Jodi who lead Max on an early morning yoga journey each morning! It felt like the resort itself was its own little world—one we didn’t want to leave.

The Club Lounge Experience

Staying in the suite came with Club Lounge access, and it was worth every penny. Each day started with an exclusive, serene breakfast, followed by afternoon tea with delicate pastries and treats. Evenings brought happy hour cocktails and canapés, all included with our stay. The lounge made us feel pampered at every turn, and the quiet, refined atmosphere was the perfect way to unwind.

The Food: Fresh, Flavorful, and Affordable

I’ve never eaten so well—or so healthily—on vacation. Padma’s dining options were exceptional, with fresh fruit, juices, and meals that celebrated Bali’s natural bounty. The prices were refreshingly reasonable: cocktails for $5–10, beer for $3–6, and meals that were both affordable and gourmet-level.

The resort isn’t all-inclusive, which, in my opinion, is why the food quality was so high. You could tell every dish was crafted with care, not mass-produced. Whether it was a quick poolside snack or a full dinner at the resort’s restaurants, every bite felt like a treat.

The Heart of Padma: Balinese Hospitality

What truly sets Padma Resort Ubud apart is the hospitality. It’s hard to describe, but once you experience Balinese care and kindness, you understand. The staff anticipated every need before we even voiced it, from the thoughtful touches in our room to their genuine smiles and eagerness to help.

On our first day, I had to call for help with an unexpected visitor—a bug the size of a mouse had claimed our balcony. I wasn’t mad; we were in the jungle, after all! In fact, I’d have been worried if there weren’t any bugs. Not only did someone arrive promptly to remove the intruder, but they also left a little treat and a handwritten “sorry” card. I mean, how could I not be charmed?

I wish I could keep going—sharing every tiny detail, painting the full picture with words to take you along on this unforgettable journey. But alas, I must bow to the whims of the internet overlords. Apparently, your attention spans are as fleeting as my husband’s patience when I insist on taking “just one more photo.” And long blogs? Google says they don’t play well with the algorithm.

So for now, this is it. If you want more details, extra pictures, or just want to chat about how amazing Padma Resort Ubud truly is, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always happy to gush about this incredible place—just maybe not in a way that tanks my SEO. 😉

When we finally had to leave, it felt like saying goodbye to friends. Padma isn’t just a resort—it’s an experience that stays with you, a place that connects with you on a personal level and leaves a lasting impression long after you’re home.
